The Southlawn theatre emphasizes that is it "now quite (sic), orderly and a safe place." One wonders what prompted this statement. It is the case that the theaters were getting so rowdy during the Saturday matinees in the 1920s and early 1930s, and there was so property damage, that many theaters stopped having them. The matinees were mostly a male activity, as one can see in a photograph of the Southlawn theatre from about 1940, in section "T."

The Octagon Bar-B-Q was a single story octagon structue. Exactly where it was located in Home Acres is unclear.
