Education at Godwin was rigorous. It's interesting to note that only 12 out of 450 students obtained the all "A" grades needed to make the honor roll. The proposed solution was to lower the bar, and make it easier to obtain the prize. The notion that an average student makes the honor roll unfortunately seems very modern, where easy victories often seem to confuse students more than help them.
