In a more practical day, essentially all of the Godwin students were phsically fit. It was rare to see a truly overweight student even through the early 1950s. TV sets were not common, junk food was not available on the school grounds, and sports activities seemed to have broader participation. Students walked to and from school, and just about any place else they wanted to go.
