1947 would be the last year for school board members Jay Doxtator and Frank Rackett. Frank Rackett was in his 40th year on the school board, and in 1948 would pack up his house and move to St. Louis, MO, to live with a niece until he died in 1959, at the age of 95. Jay Doxtator was on the school board in 1929 already. How much earlier, if any, is unclear at present. Frank Bartels was also on the school board since at least 1929. He was still on the school board in 1949, but not in 1953. One of the annuals from 1950, 1951, or 1952, should resolve when he too retired.

The long tenures of these school board members probably reflects a bygone era. Active in their community, they also reflect a time when people might live in the same house for 50 years or more, and work at the same job their entire life. Already today those factors are at best but memories.
