Thursday night, January 21, 2010.

Last night about 6:30 a middle aged Afro-American male came to my door asking if I could help him get a new tire for his car. He had $5 but needed $10 more to get the tire. I told him that I couldn't help him. He pleaded with me a little but I was firm that I couldn't help. He left my house and went west on Van Auken, then turned south on Poinsettia. I called the general line at the GRPD and filed a report. The person I talked to said that a car would be sent to try to find the man. I didn't hear anything more , but thought you should know this and maybe send an e-mail out to neighbors.

I just received a phone call from a neighbor on 32nd street. She said that a black male came knocking on her neighbors door asking if he could do yard work or had any bottles that he could have. She also noticed a car slowly driving down the road while he was at the door. When I came home I noticed who I believe was the same person walking up Giddings. He was wearing jeans with a durag on his head. The police have been called and will be checking it out. Thank you for alerting us of this and let's continue to keep our eyes open.
