In light of what would happen only five months or so
from the time the class of 1929 graduated, the class
prophecy very likely hit some rough air. The Great
Depression was likely hard on everyone's plans as they
attempted to cope with the transition from comfortable
prosperity to economic calamity.
Here too, the class prohecy seems better suited to the small class sizes of the early Godwin, and would no doubt become too big a job as class sizes expanded. Later on the practice was somewhat replaced by class mock elections. |
