One sometimes senses that many of the clubs nd committees were mostly intended simply to keep students busy. Still, almost all taught organizational skills which most students would later put to good use throughout their lives. In later years it seems that entities like the "Noon Hour Committee" no longer existed. Students were mostly on their own to mill around and haunt places like Lameroux's Drug Store during the part of the lunch break when they weren't eating. Occasionally, bad weather mandated that they sit in the gym or study hall areas, requiring some of the faculty members to then serve as monitors.
