By 1952 the group of school board members, including Jay Doxtator,
Frank Bartels, Frank Rackett, and Mildred Andre, who had served
for up to 40 years, were all gone. Going forward, the terms of school
board members would be much shorter. In part people tended to move
around more by 1952.
Similarly, Charles Saur took Godwin from a one room school to a complex of buildings during his almost 25 years as superintendent. But by 1952 already communities were becoming less stable, and the length of his tenure will likely never be repeated. |
