Pearl Fryling is on the bottom row, just to the
right of Gladys Saur. The names to the right of
Fryling are too light to see, but might be able
to be reconstructed from a class list. If anyone
has a copy of the class photo they'd loan to me
to scan, a higher resolution version could be
made.

1924 kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Based on two names, Mae and E. J. Alaria, who graduated in 1937 and 1936 respectively, this photo was taken in the fall of 1924. Mae was in kindergarten, and E.J. in first grade. This photograph could just as well be part of the class of 1936 or 1937, being a mix of two classes.

Below is a list of movies from 1936, compiled by Lee (Tanner) Collins, class of 1941, based on information collected by her sister Laura Tanner, also class of 1941. Movies of the time can say something about how people lived, and show things like how cities looked, the cars of the time, and fashion. In a movie like "San Francisco," for example, the end of the movie shows what was in 1936 modern San Franciso, with the Golden Gate Bridge just being built. Sometimes the insides of stores of all kinds, and the insides of ordinary people's homes are shown, giving a look at typical furnishings. While not specific to Godwin, these glimpses can nevertheless show how ordinary Americans lived at the time.
