- Unalaska .
On 1st St & Bay View Ave. on Aleutian Islands the bishops house for the Holy Ascension orthodox church stands. It is 8 sided but two of the sides are unequal to the other 6. It was built in 1887 but the Bishop Nestor found it hard to heat. The nearby school was then connected to the west side house in 1907. A left side addition/shed had already been built.
The last Orthodox priest lived in the house in 1940-41 when the U.S. military used the buildings for officers quarters. Restoration is being planned.
