• S of Fairview. Octagon house. Nothing else known.

Minnehaha County

• Village of Colton. Octagon house. Believed built 1900-1910. Originally a free standing octagon, a lean-to was added later for a larger kitchen, as well as other embellishments.

• Lyons Octagon house. Built circa 1910 pictured in 2015 now abandoned. Two story octagon farmhouse with front and back porches. No cupola. Clapboard sided but apparently now abandoned. Similar to the one in Roseville IL. A 2nd floor door above the porch roof porch may have originally had a balcony; "Although the owner was unable to provide much information about the date of construction, records indicate ( and the owner agrees) that the house was built c1910, approximately 35 years after the style was popular in other areas of the country. This houe has more decorative elements than most rural farmhouses, yet it might best be describes as avernacular version of the Octagon style which often included elaborate ornamentation. Although there have been some changes (ie aluminum windows, missing second story balcony), the house retains higher level of integrity and is ingenerally good condition".

Moody County.

• S of Flandreau. Flandreau, SD.Octagon (not pentagon) house which served as a hotel by 1892.. Built in or before 1883. Located at the corner of Pipestone and Wind Street in the center of town. • Tolstoy. Octagon house. Probably built the early 1900s. The house fell in disrepair in the 1950s, and likely no longer exists.
